Joly good fellow | By Adam Dunivan Loveland Reporter-Herald
People love to talk about their personal conquests.
For guys like Mario Joly who are enforcers out on the ice, that can get a little tricky when some of the guys he's fought are now only a couple stalls away in the dressing room.
His presence as a heavyweight in the CHL for four of the six years he's been a pro, Joly has had a couple run-ins with Colorado's biggest names. That includes a tussle or two with now-assistant coach Greg Pankewicz, fights with Fraser Filipic and plenty of words with Alex Penner.
Joly, who was signed just last Wednesday to play for Colorado for the remainder of the season, remembered well the last time he fought Filipic, back on Jan. 16 of last year while Joly was playing for Odessa. And really, who could forget it?

Motorcycle rally will be held at Harley dealership | By Shelley Widhalm Loveland Reporter-Herald
The annual Thunder in the Rockies motorcycle rally will not be in downtown Loveland nor at The Ranch.
Instead, the four-day Labor Day weekend event will take place solely at Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson.
“The goal was to try to get it in an alternate location that is more sustainable,” said Bob Herrfeldt, director of The Ranch. “We're holding true to that. We haven't seen these events be successful at remote locations.”

With a passion for transportation, Gary Boughton was driven to collect thousands of bus schedules | By Sarah Bultema Loveland Reporter-Herald
Ever since he was a child, Gary Boughton has been transfixed by public transportation. While other youngsters his age looked forward to playing in the park, Boughton was always most excited to take a bus or trolley ride with his grandmother.
“It was just a treat,” he said. “I loved it.”
This passion for community transportation seemed to run in his family.
The youngster's father was a bus driver and spent his career following routes throughout Los Angeles.

Expanding preschool gives parents more options | Loveland Reporter-Herald
When a child enters kindergarten, the number of new skills and behaviors that are expected of that child can seem overwhelming.
Beyond the reading and math, the skills of listening to a teacher and working in a classroom environment are new to many who enter school.
For some, however, those classroom skills have already been learned. Preschool and pre-kindergarten programs provide children with important lessons they can take with them when they go to a regular school setting.
